unbelievable
This is my first - and last - time dealing with Black & Decker. I received a drill as a Christmas gift and was surprised that the only way to charge the battery was while it was attached to the drill. Of course B&D are happy to sell extra batteries (which I bought for $30) and a charger (another $25). So now I'm in for $55 for a drill I received as a gift. Imagine my surprise to find that the charger does not fit the batteries, even though it states that it charges all 18V slide in batteries. What a... more info

this type of charger doesn't die if you have a bad battery and is the only kind to get.
Black & Decker battery charger
I have a B&D hand-held vac that came with a slooow and short-lived charger. This charger is much superior to the original. It charges the 18v battery in about an hour. Great product and good price from Amazon.

The Firestorm drill I have had for home use has served me well, when the battery died, I got 2 batts, but wanted a 2nd charger, this unit worked without a problem, and now I have 2 batteries at the ready when the need arises.
