Water Detector 
Purchased three of these devices. My son has them in his home and has saved him water damage. I placed one of mine near the washing machine where I have had water leaks. The others are going under sinks. I haven't had any go off yet, so I can not comment on reliability. The 5 stars are from my son's experience.

Fantastic Product - Must Have if you have a basement.
After several problems with backing up sewer line (finally fixed permanently), we purchased this warning device to alert us before any water or sewage back up got beyond the drain. Fortunately our sewer line is fixed (blocked by a toy our kids dropped in the drain), but this unit has performed flawlessly every time we have tested it. Good, not great.
This item is compact and easy to place. Simple cover removal makes battery replacement a snap. The only thing I would improve is making it louder.

S-O-S....S-O-S....S-O-S
I purchased two of these after suffering a disastrous water pipe leak in a finished, carpeted and furnished basement, a leak that went undetected for about 24 hours. The cases of my Zircon detectors look exactly like this one, but they have a red-on-white label rather than the white-on-blue shown in the Amazon listing. I'm not sure whether this indicates a newer version or what. That said, the ones I have work perfectly.
